 Learning Objectives:

To have a clear understanding of algorithms as sequences of instructions

To convert simple algorithms to programs

To predict what a simple program will do

To spot and fix (debug) errors in your programs.

Success Criteria:

I can predict where a programme will finish on the treasure map

I can write down my instructions (algorithm) to show where my treasure is hidden.

I can give instructions to (programme) to find the treasure.

I can fix problems in my algorithm and work out if it will work.

All children should be able to:

1 – Open the Sencolewis.co.uk website

2 - Play "Battleships" in groups of 2 pairs - take turns to give or follow programmes!  Use the treasure map and cubes to mark your position.

Most Children should be able to:

Complete 1 - 3

4 - Create own algorithm using coding stickers to mark their hidden treasure

5 - Work in pairs to programme the rover on a Beebot sized treasure map to follow algorithm programmes

Some Children should be able to:

Complete 1 - 5

6 - Debug their algorithm

7 - Share their algorithm and follow algorithms of other people
