Duplicate the snake to make a 2 player game!

 Learning Objectives:

To duplicate the code to make a 2 player game

To design and create a computer program for a computer game, which uses sequence, selection, repetition and variables.

To detect and correct errors in your computer game.

To log in to personal Scratch account using your personal "username" and "password"

Success Criteria:

I can log into my personal Scratch account.

I can duplicate the snake Sprite algorithm to create a simple two player game using a template or (Greater Depth) copy code myself/duplicate the target picture also

I can detect bugs and fix them (debug).

I can change the background / and sprites to make my game unique

All children should be able to:

1 - Open the Sencolewis.co.uk website

2 - Log into personal Scratch account - demo "sencolewis 2snakes" https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/246529498/ and investigate examples of Y5 & Y6 snecosnakes work - (at the bottom of the page!)

3 - Build the code using "sencolewis snakes 2build"  https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/246528498/#editor

Most Children should be able to:

Complete 1 - 3

4 - Duplicate the snake Sprite and change its colour

5 – Add a new background

Some Children should be able to:

Complete 1 - 5

6 – Change the Sprites/ code -

(Greater Depth) Draw a new background

Draw a new target Sprite instead of my picture

7 – Save and  their games in the “Projects” area.

Teacher Notes:

Teacher Notes:

Ch log into their new Scratch accounts

1 - Play the 2 player game "sencolewis 2snakes"

2 - Discuss the success criteria and learning objectives

3 - Show class examples of work from last lesson

4 - Compile the code on the example: "snakes 2build2"

5 - Demonstrate how to duplicate a Sprite snake

6 -Greater depth activities: change sprites - draw their own sprites and background using the editor tools.

Compile the code within the "sencolewis snakes 2build2" software

This is what it should look like when you have finished!
Change the background next then change the sprites.
