Build your own "Breakout" game using a template


Remixed by a child in my class

 Learning Objectives:  

To change the Sprites within a Scratch template to remix a game in your own style

To design and create a computer program for a computer game, which uses sequence, selection, repetition and variables.

To detect and correct errors in your computer game.

To log in to personal Scratch account using your personal "username" and "password"


Success Criteria:

I can log into my personal Scratch account.

I can change the “sencobreakout” template to make my own game  (Greater Depth) add my own introduction backdrop to the game

I can detect bugs and fix them (debug).

I can change the background / and sprites to make my game unique

All children should be able to:

Ch log into their new Scratch accounts

1 - Play the “sencolewis-breakout” game

2 - Discuss the success criteria and learning objectives

3 - Show the original “breakout game” - describe how to use the “paint area to change the look of the Sprites


Most Children should be able to:

Complete 1 - 3

4 – Demonstrate how to use the pipette and select existing colours.

5 - Demonstrate how to paint the colour and select other colours – use the brush to paint individual pixels.


Some Children should be able to:

6 -Greater depth activities: change the introduction backdrop to make the game your own.

7 - Children to Investigate peer work,save to Scratch personal area
