 Learning Objectives:

To have a clear understanding of algorithms as sequences of instructions

To convert simple algorithms to programs

To predict what a simple program will do

To spot and fix (debug) errors in your programs.

Success Criteria:

I know what instructions and algorithms are and how they are used

I can give instructions to tell my partner where to go.

I can write down my instructions (algorithm).

I can give instructions to (programme) my spacecraft.

I can fix problems in my algorithm and work out if it will work.

All children should be able to:

1 – Open the Sencolewis.co.uk website

2 - Watch the introduction video

3 - Follow a simple algorithm to reach the planet! , investigate how a Beebot works!

Most Children should be able to:

Complete 1 - 3

4 - Create own algorithm using coding stickers to make their space voyage to their first planet

5 - Work in pairs to walk the algorithm

Some Children should be able to:

Complete 1 - 5

6 - Debug their algorithm

7 - Share their algorithm and follow algorithms of other people
