Lesson Learning Objectives:  

  1. Children to name as many computers or devices as they can
  2. Children to list these and research example pictures
  3. To describe the different types of toys contain computers

2 Find example images of these toys using Google Images

3 Paste these images onto a word document “Ideas Scrapbook”



Most Children should be able to:

1 List ideas for toys

2 Find example images of these toys using Google Images

3 Paste these images onto a word document “Ideas Scrapbook”

4 Self assess


Some Children should be able to:

1 List ideas for toys

2 Find example images of these toys using Google Images

3 Paste these images onto a word document “Ideas Scrapbook”

4 Type in sentences describing the toys with computers they have selected

5 Self assess
Lesson 1   - Y3/Y4

Task 1 – Explain that the children will be designing their own toy and making a animated scratch example of it

Task 2 –Show example of  scratch animation example

Task 3 – Children to list computer based toys on their “Ideas Scrapbook”

Task 4 – Children to research toys using Google Images.

Task 5 – Copy and paste image examples onto their “Ideas Scrapbook”

Task 6 - Annotate the images pasted, describing their computer features.

Show LO to children. What toys do you know of that contain computers?. Discuss.
