Making your own Sprite cat costumes to animate

 Learning Objectives:  

To write a program in Scratch to create an animation.

To correct mistakes in an animation programme


Success Criteria:

I can work in pairs.

I can draw multiple costumes of my Sprite Cat 

I can use a template algorithm to change the costumes

I can create an animation story based on a template

(Greater Depth)- I can add more script blocks to add to the costumes & (debug)


Duplicate more cat costumes and change them to make your animation!
This is how we duplicated last week

All children should be able to:

1 – Open the Sencolewis.co.uk website

2 - Login to Scratch your own personal login so that you can work at home and at school.

3 – Investigate “Cat-dance2” animation

4 - Create your own original Scratch animation based upon my “Cat-dance2” template - remix and save


Most Children should be able to:

Complete 1 - 3

4 – Draw your own Sprite Cat and add multiple costumes

5 - Add own backgrounds to the animation

6 - Work in pairs to debug the animations

Some Children should be able to:


Complete 1 - 7

7 - (Greater Depth)

Save your work in Scratch and share - view animations that your friends have made

Add dialogue (talking speech) code to your Sprite costume algorithms

Glossary - Word Bank

Duplicate - make a copy

Algorithm – step by step guide/instructions to solve a problem.

 Input – data supplied to the computer using a mouse/keyboard.

 Output – Information produced by the computer on the screen or through the speakers.

 Program – A set of instructions understood by the computer to create an outcome.
