Touch Typing - Lesson 4- Y5/Y6

 Week 4 Challenge - Learning Objectives:  

  1. To not look at the keys, rest your wrists on the table.
  2. To attempt Level 4 online training!
  3. To gain a Touch Typing Race Score -  
Welcome to the Touch Typing Championship level 4, a great way to learn touch typing.

Let's start , you can play working through four levels, each level is split into three stages.  The programme is sequential - you need to learn the first stage before moving onto the next.  Each stage builds upon the skills previously learned.  You will quickly be touch typing like a professional.  At the end of each  lesson you can gain a certificate if you pass a target typing speed and get a fun reward in the game!  

Learning Objective:     

Level 4 - revise all previous keys including new keys x  z /   .   shift keys    



All children should be able to:

A - Understand the reasons why learning to touch type is so important.

B - Complete Level 4 - Stage 1                  x   z 

Most Children should be able to:

Complete Level 4 - Stages 1 and 2          /    .

Some Children should be able to:

Also complete Level 4- Stage 3                 shift keys MAKING CAPITAL LETTERS

The quickest top 5 pupils who type the quickest receive a certificate!  


When you are good at touch typing you will be able to type quicker than you can write with a pen.

Things to remember are:

(1)  You will type quicker when you do not rush

(2)  Use the correct fingers

(3)   Keep your feet flat on the floor, sit comfortably and keep your back straight.

(4)   Rest your wrists on the desk

(5)   If your muscles in your hands and fingers feel tired, take a rest and shake your hands.

(6)   Do not look at your hands when you type at your hands when you are learning to type.
