Racetrack (Lesson b): Points and landscape -                                                Lesson Learning Objectives:  

  1. To investigate adding contours to the bends
  2. To make a additional scenery – land, houses, trees
  3. To add points scoring system  /Game Over
  4. Save the work online - consider eSafety and share – screenshots.
  5. Self assess.

Kodu Tutorial 6 - Programming a racing game

All children should be able to:

A - Continue coding a race track

B - Add green land, houses, trees etc

C - Play the game, discuss/ share with class.


Most Children should be able to:

Complete A-C

D - Add a castle and finish / winner - Game Over coding

E - Create screen shots to save to self assessment.

F - Add other objects to bump into which lead to "talking”

G - Create screen shots to save to self assessment.


Some Children should be able to:

H - Add objects to bump into to score points

Bump into objects, eat them and score!

This simple code allows you to control your "red" bike - and score when you bump into a sputnik

Add this code to the drone's "green coloured "bike so that they can score points also
